Now this is a scarcity, the only example we have been able to find. We believe this to be a 1902 era experimental enamel canteen, with the metal base being covered entirely by a tan & white colored enamel, which has deteriorated a bit on the front where the U. S. is indented. The canteen is similar in shape to the 1902 model, and the inclusion of a 1904 Dated RIA hanger supports this. The canteen is missing enamel in a
