13 | Rotax Water Pump Pinion Engine Oil The MyChron is one ofWater Pump Pinion by Rotax Max Engines. This pinion gear drives the water pump impeller to cycle water through the crankcase. Noted as part 13 in the diagram, this plastic gear is very important for properly driving the water pump. Made out of plastic, this gear can break from time to time in cold weather.
