so it is marked with the original delivery date and serial number

This was certainly a flag that was forcibly taken after the battle was won and brought home as a souvenir

During WWI Medics and Corpsmen were issued rather cumbersome belts to carry their supplies

Scott & Son, and is an early "Hammerless" design, where the hammers are inside of the lock, a large step forward in the evolution of the modern shotgun.
